Given the rising threat to freedom and inclusion for the transgender community on the global stage at the moment, we have devoted a full day to intersectional issues facing trans people to ensure this community is seen and heard.

About the event
Trans people face many challenges, including discrimination, violence, and barriers to healthcare.
Around 40-60% of trans people report facing discrimination due to their gender identity, with many experiencing this in everyday situations.
Studies show that a significant percentage of trans people have faced issues at work - 27% of trans people have been fired, not hired, or denied a promotion due to their trans identity, according to HRC (US).
A large number of trans individuals report difficulty accessing appropriate healthcare related to their transition, including concerns about provider understanding and lack of access to necessary medical interventions - 70% of trans people report being impacted by transphobia when accessing general healthcare services, according to Stonewall UK.
